Sea World Orlando

My daughter, grandson 8, granddaughter 4, & I went to Sea World. We left on Friday and spent the afternoon. Then we stayed the night in Orlando, FL, and went back on Saturday.

One of the first things we did was see the dolphins.

We saw some flamingos. They are born white and gradually get their color. They also get some of their color from food such as shrimp. They stand on one leg to keep warm. Where you think their knee should be is actually their ankle. Their knee is up high.

We went down through the tunnel to see the sharks. For some reason my grandson is afraid of lots of things, and he was not at all happy about going in the tunnel. Of course, after it was over he wanted to go it again.
This is a picture of a shark that swam right by us.
This one was swimming right toward me. Yikes!!!

The kids were amazed at how large a walrus is.
Of course it wouldn't be a trip to Sea World without seeing Shamu.
And of course they like to show off.

It is amazing how well trained these whales are. Even my grandson commented on how well the trainers did.
Can you even imagine these huge creatures flying and flipping out of the water like this?

To finish off our trip they had a special show of Max and Ruby. This was one of my granddaughters favorites!

I Love Church

On Christmas Eve I went to stay with my mom... I missed church.
On New Years Eve I went to stay with my mom... I missed church.

By no means am I an early bird. I would much rather sleep late, but out of necessity I get up early. I get to sleep as long as baby girl will let me on Saturday, but since she started VPK (voluntary preschool) she is usually up no later than 8:30am. I try to pull the covers over my head, but soon I hear this little voice saying, "I'm hungry!"

I love spending time with my mom, but I'm delighted to say that I made it to Sunday school and church today. It is important to me to fellowship with my church family. I love to hear and study the word of God. What's more important to me is that my grandchildren go. I take them with me and they love it. They each have their own Sunday school class. When Sunday school is over they come into the sanctuary with me for a short period of time. Then they are dismissed to Childrens Church.

To me this is the perfect start to the week.

Hotdog Creatures

My daughter saw this on a website and thought it would be fun for the kids. I don't know what the real name is, but they look like little creatures to me so I called them Hotdog Creatures.

I decided yesterday to try this recipe.

Take a pack of hotdogs and cut them into bite size pieces.
Break some spaghetti in half.
Stick them through the hotdogs pieces.

Boil for about 10 or 11 minutes.

My granddaughter likes ketchup on everything. So she dipped hers in ketchup. Then she decided that Parmesan cheese would be good so she tried that and liked it.
I like mustard on hotdogs so I tried that. The Parmesan cheese sounded good so I tried that too. It was good. So I tried both mustard and Parmesan together and it was yummy!
My grandson enjoyed making them, but wouldn't eat them. I think that's funny since he loves hotdogs and spaghetti.

Happy New Year 2012

I'm proud to say that I was real good about blogging last year up until November. I'm not sure why I stopped, but hope to have a great time this year blogging.

Christmas was wonderful with lots of  family. We went to my Moms on Christmas Eve. We open presents from each other, and ate to much. On Christmas morning my Mom gets to see her great grandchildren smiles as they look to see what Santa has brought them. Christmas Day is a day for leftovers and mostly being lazy.
